Short CV at Burke
Museum. B.S.,
Zoology, University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, 1976. FIELD EXPERIENCE: Extensive field work since 1971 for personal research on systematics, biogeography, and descriptive ecology of spiders, related arachnids, and cave invertebrates, spending up to 40 days per year in the field, often as part of formal and semi-formal expeditions organized by the Burke Museum, Cave Research Foundation, and other groups. Also relevant is 35 years of experience building the Burke Museum spider collection from less than 3,000 specimens in canning jars to a fully curated and computer catalogued major systematic resource of over 100,000 specimens. Survey and inventory, Kuril Islands, July-August 1994. PUBLICATIONS: Since 1974, more than 50 scientific publications and more than 40 popular articles on the systematics, biogeography, and descriptive ecology of spiders, related arachnids, and cave invertebrates. DISCLAIMER — This resource was first
intended as for private use of the members of the arachnology
lab of Museu Nacional, but later we thought "why not to share
this with the world?". Eventually if greedy lawyers (redundance...)
start to bother us with copyright matters, etc, we may have to be forced
to quit the project and keep this just to ourselves. |
