Birthplace: Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk), Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russian Federation.

BIOGRAPHY: Né le 27 janvier (9 février) 1896 à Jekaterinburg (Swerdlowsk); après avoir terminé ses études à l'Université de Perm, il y entra comme assistant de zoologie (1924); devenu professeur-adjoint (1930), puis professeur titulaire (1932) à cette même Université, fut aussi directeur de la station biologique d'Oklansk (1929-1933) et vice-recteur de l'Université de Perm (1935-1938). En 1936, il fit partie de l'expédition au lac Saissan, comme chef de la section entomologique. Actuellement (1939), professeur à l' Institut de recherches biologiques de l'Université de Perm, il continue, à contribuer par ses études connaissance de la faune aranéologique de l'U. R. S. S.; il a publié plusieurs mémoires sur cette faune et a donné un important catalogue des Araignées de son pays.
