Izaskun MERINO-SAINZ

Birthdate: 7 June 1982

Birthplace: Santander, Cantabria, Spain.

I studied Biology at the University of Oviedo (Asturias, Spain) (2000-2005).

I started studying the harvestmen of the Natural Integral Reserve of Muniellos (Asturias, Spain) (2006). I got my PhD in 2012, carrying out a study on the diversity, spatial and temporal patterns in the distribution of harvestmen in Asturias: “Specific biodiversity of harvestmen (Arachnida) within the mosaic landscape of central Asturias”. My research is focused on the biodiversity and distribution of the harvestmen of the Iberian peninsula, as well as the study of their temporal patterns, their spatial distribution, and the interactions between species in different habitats and microhabitats.
